Wayne is a registered architect, partner and ThomsonAdsett’s Practice Director. He has over 30 years of experience in architectural practice, with the last 20 years working solely on health and aged care projects throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Wayne has worked on a number of large hospital campuses, retirement villages and aged care facilities, including independent living units and frail aged accommodation. He is adept at understanding the operational and pragmatic aspects of health and aged care.

Wayne is a highly-experienced master planner and seniors living architect who has worked across various building types within the aged care sector – from independent and associated living to serviced apartments and high-care accommodations for people with special needs including dementia and palliative care.

He is particularly interested in designing environments that are cognisant of creating community. Wayne’s designs encourage social interaction and create a strong link between wellness and the natural environment. He is passionate about designing communities that empower and support people’s independence.

He has co-authored a number of industry guidelines that help aged care providers achieve the most from their facility’s design.
