Queensland Health faced a significant challenge in combating obesity. Despite widespread understanding of obesity’s health impacts, actual behavior change remained low. To bridge this gap from understanding to action, Queensland Health partnered with Junior and Evolut (formerly Cru) to devise a strategy that would motivate Queenslanders to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Objective
The objective was to transform theoretical understanding into practical action by leveraging the psychology of habit formation. The strategy centered around the concept of a “Health & Fitness Age,” a metric designed to give individuals a tangible understanding of their health relative to their chronological age, encouraging them to take immediate steps towards improvement.
Approach
The multi-faceted approach began with a captivating TV campaign introducing the “Health & Fitness Age” concept. This campaign directed viewers to an online platform where they could calculate their own Health & Fitness Age using a 15-step interactive quiz. The quiz boasted an 85% completion rate, demonstrating high engagement. Following the quiz, a mobile app provided personalized daily habits tailored to users’ quiz insights, nudging them towards sustainable health improvements.
They have a great balance of being both commercial and creative. They’ve got the technical expertise but they really go beyond with the mix of both design and commercial understanding so we can really build something that’ll achieve the desired outcome of the business. They worked with us through that. Additionally, we're impressed with their strategy. They didn’t intend to build a site that’d be demolished in a couple of years’ time. Their team is being scalable so they’ll reuse the work that they’ve done previously to build. They don’t have to restart. This shows that they’re being very careful with our money as well. Additionally, we’ve had a great flow in sales. We’ve had $7 million worth of preorders since we went live. This is far exceeding our expectations and targets. The fact that it flowed and worked well without any errors is a win.

The first challenge was to capture and maintain user engagement long enough to convey the campaign’s message and motivate action.
The solution was the creation of a guided selling approach through the Health & Fitness Age calculator and interactive quiz. This engaging tool not only educated users about their health but also provided a clear, personalized metric that spurred interest in taking concrete steps towards health improvement.
Sustaining user engagement post-quiz and converting one-time interactions into long-term health changes posed a significant challenge.
To address this, a mobile app was developed to serve as a daily companion in the user’s journey towards better health. Using data from the quiz, the app delivered customized health tips and nudged users towards healthier habits, effectively helping them transition from awareness to action.
To ensure the campaign’s longevity and impact, effective strategies were needed to retain user interest and encourage return engagement.
The implementation of lead magnets and Hormozi offers within the campaign structure helped to maintain user engagement. These elements, combined with ongoing campaign management, ensured that the message of the Health & Fitness Age resonated across multiple touchpoints, continually drawing users back to the platform and encouraging sustained behavior change.
