The Financial Basics Foundation (FBF) is a respected independent charity committed to improving financial literacy among young Australians. They provide a wide array of resources tailored for educators, young people, parents, carers, and employers of young people. Recognizing the need to enhance their digital footprint and overall brand presence, FBF sought to professionalize and energize their image to better serve and expand their audience.
Objective
FBF aimed to rejuvenate their brand to make it more professional and engaging, thus enhancing their effectiveness in delivering financial education. The objective extended beyond mere aesthetic enhancement; FBF was determined to strengthen their digital capabilities to support and enhance future digital initiatives, including online learning and resource management.
Approach
Evolut collaborated with FBF to develop a robust brand and digital strategy that encompassed a comprehensive overhaul of their visual identity and digital platforms. This strategy included the development of a new CRM system, enhancement of digital onboarding processes, integration of the website with CRM for seamless functionality, and the support for online educational games. Additionally, plans were laid for establishing a new Learning Management System (LMS) and a detailed reporting framework to track engagement and effectiveness.
They have a great balance of being both commercial and creative. They’ve got the technical expertise but they really go beyond with the mix of both design and commercial understanding so we can really build something that’ll achieve the desired outcome of the business. They worked with us through that. Additionally, we're impressed with their strategy. They didn’t intend to build a site that’d be demolished in a couple of years’ time. Their team is being scalable so they’ll reuse the work that they’ve done previously to build. They don’t have to restart. This shows that they’re being very careful with our money as well. Additionally, we’ve had a great flow in sales. We’ve had $7 million worth of preorders since we went live. This is far exceeding our expectations and targets. The fact that it flowed and worked well without any errors is a win.

DSM™ Blueprint
The challenge was to elevate FBF’s brand to reflect its mission and appeal to a younger audience effectively.
A new brand identity was created, including a redesigned logo and a fresh suite of illustrations and imagery that visually narrates FBF’s commitment to financial education. This rebranding was aimed at making FBF’s resources more relatable and engaging to young Australians, enhancing their connection with the content.
To make FBF’s educational resources more accessible and engaging, a significant enhancement of their digital presentation was necessary.
Evolut restructured the presentation of FBF’s vast array of educational products, such as videos and WebQuests, in a more vibrant and user-friendly format. This not only improved the aesthetic appeal of these resources but also made them more interactive and engaging for users.
Recognizing the need for a robust framework to support FBF’s educational offerings, there was a clear demand for a comprehensive LMS.
Evolut is currently assisting FBF in the development of a new LMS solution that includes an extensive reporting framework. This system will enable FBF to deliver educational content more effectively and provide valuable insights into user engagement and educational outcomes.
Future Outlook
With the foundational digital upgrades in place, FBF is poised for further advancements in their online educational strategies. The forthcoming LMS will provide a more structured and scalable platform for delivering content and will include enhanced capabilities for tracking and reporting on educational impact.
