Comics Etc. has been a cornerstone of the comic book retail industry in Queensland for over 25 years, known for its dedicated following of enthusiastic, tech-savvy fans. Despite their strong market presence, the existing website did not fully capture the vibrancy and energy of their brand or their extensive comic book offerings.

Objective

The objective was to revitalize Comics Etc.’s online presence with a website that not only showcased their extensive comic book catalog but also enhanced the user experience to support e-commerce and drive additional sales. The goal was to create a digital environment that mirrored the excitement and engagement users feel when browsing their favorite comics in store.

Approach

The approach focused on integrating beloved comic book characters into the website’s functionality, making the online shopping experience fun, interactive, and engaging. This was achieved by theming different sections of the website around popular characters, such as “Wolverine Pre-Orders,” “Iron Man Bestsellers,” “Batman Shop Now,” and “Captain America’s In Store This Week,” with the entire website playfully “held up” by the Hulk. This creative integration aimed to captivate users and encourage more in-depth interaction with the product offerings.
