ThomsonAdsett, a premier architectural firm with over 50 years of heritage in Australia, is renowned for its vast experience across ten diverse sectors. Specializing in the concept of integrated spaces, the firm combines expertise in areas like retail, community, and education to create environments that are not only functional but also deeply enriching. Despite their impressive portfolio, their previous website failed to convey the breadth and impact of their work. The challenge was to revitalize their digital presence to reflect their innovative approach and extensive capabilities.
Objective
To transform ThomsonAdsett’s online presence into a Digital Selling Machine that effectively communicates their unique value proposition of “Enriching Lives” and showcases their integrated approach across various sectors.
Approach
Evolut developed a digital strategy that centered around the theme “Enriching Lives”, integrating this concept into all sector profiles on the new website. The design was aimed at making the site as dynamic and compelling as the spaces ThomsonAdsett architects. This included a full overhaul of the Service Catalogue, enhanced Solutions detailing, and rich Digital Storytelling elements.

They have a great balance of being both commercial and creative. They’ve got the technical expertise but they really go beyond with the mix of both design and commercial understanding so we can really build something that’ll achieve the desired outcome of the business. They worked with us through that. Additionally, we're impressed with their strategy. They didn’t intend to build a site that’d be demolished in a couple of years’ time. Their team is being scalable so they’ll reuse the work that they’ve done previously to build. They don’t have to restart. This shows that they’re being very careful with our money as well. Additionally, we’ve had a great flow in sales. We’ve had $7 million worth of preorders since we went live. This is far exceeding our expectations and targets. The fact that it flowed and worked well without any errors is a win.

DSM™ Blueprint
The most important objective and largest challenge was to elevate the ThomsonAdsett value proposition through the website. Having a clear and defining value proposition definitely “bucks the trend” in architectural circles, but we truly believed ThomsonAdsett had something worth saying that was differentiating in a beautiful way.
We collectively landed on “Enriching Lives” as a rally cry to encapsulate ThomsonAdsett’s belief that it’s more important to create spaces that work for the people that use them, and are both liveable and loveable, than just focus on award-winning exteriors. ThomsonAdsett has built a reputation around this ethos and we truly wanted to elevate this.
Furthermore, ThomsonAdsett has a wonderful approach towards integrated living and spaces that combines their vast and rich sector experience and heritage – as well as their adept combination of architecture and interior design practices. We worked with ThomsonAdsett to imbue this approach into all of the sector profiles to truly elevate their offering and present a value proposition and digital story that is both differentiating and compelling.

Case Studies are the lifeblood and evidence of Architectural firms that supports RFPs and gets them a “seat on the table” for new projects.
Where ThomsonAdsett truly shines is the amazing depth and breadth of their projects and experience. There was hundreds of wonderful projects to choose from and we narrowed down to the top 120 (for starters!) This presented an interesting challenge in making this number of case studies user-friendly to navigate and engage with.
To this end we leveraged a Faceted Search approach and built extensive meta data into each Project so users could easily find projects and case studies that were most relevant to them. Users can search by Sector, Year, Location and Expertise.

Sector-based experience and content are key determinants in whether architects will get approached for certain projects (and/or win them). We wanted to be sure that each of the sectors ThomsonAdsett was engaged in was both well represented and compelling.
To this end we built an incredibly flexible Sector/Solution template that allowed for rich story telling, related content and a key focus on features and benefits.
Through related content it allowed ThomsonAdsett to show off specific projects and highlight key team members and their profiles. Rapidly building credibility and helping put ThomsonAdsett at the forefront of the mind of their target audiences.
